PALS!
Monday 24th – Friday 28th July 2023
Taster Day: Monday 12-5pm
Tuesday-Friday: 12.30-5pm.
PALS! is a free week-long programme of arts activities for 11-13 year olds at Out of the Blue Drill Hall. Started initially as a response to the pandemic, we wanted to help young people get back outdoors, off their screens and enjoying new experiences within a safe and supportive environment.
PALS! is now in its third year having supported over 100 young people make the transition to high school with new friends.
PALS! is a fun, friendly and safe environment for children in Leith to ‘play and learn stuff’, try new arts activities and meet new friends. Monday 24th July will be a taster day, with a chance to try out all three activities before deciding if they want to commit to the week:
Drawing and comics with Out of the Blueprint
Drama games and performance with Strange Town Youth Theatre
Aerial and circus skills with All or Nothing
Lunch is provided on the taster day, with snacks and drinks provided through the rest of the week.
This project is specifically aimed at young people in the Leith area, who moved to high school last year or are moving up to high school in August. Our aim is to assist young people to successfully transition to secondary school, through building their confidence and meeting new friends from other schools in the area.
Applications are now open.
