Brand new riso exhibition by artist-in-residence HAM, open now! Taking inspiration from airline safety cards, Terminal Velocity features a series of self-reflective comics, from long-haul relationships and emotional baggage to disaster scenarios and emergency landings. Humorous and heartfelt, this tongue in cheek project pokes fun at the ridiculousness of air travel.
We've been working with graphic artist Gordon Shaw to publish his latest comic book Bittersweet. The fourth instalment in the RICK series, Bittersweet is a funny & moving comic about living with an incurable brain tumour. Inside you’ll find heated conversations between Gordon and his own tumour, Rick, alongside observations on guilt, fatigue and mortality. An important, insightful and deeply personal account of the artist’s experience, full of brain facts and big feels.
Out of the Blueprint are delighted to announce that, as part of our creative programme, and marking 2018 as the Year of Young People, we’re seeking applications from young artists for two artist print based residencies this winter/spring. The residencies are available to Scottish based artists, aged 24 years old or under. Each residency takes place over two months and provides the artist with a workspace, access to the Riso and Gocco machines, a fee and budget for materials; as well as an opportunity to exhibit work in progress within The Drill Hall.
